3 HOURS: 1.5 HOURS CLASSROOM; 1.5 HOURS ON THE RANGE

 

$25 PER INDIVIDUAL, PLUS TARGETS AND SHELLS THAT YOU SHOOT.

 

ARRANGEMNTS CAN BE MADE FOR LOANER GUNS IF COMMUNICATED IN ADVANCE OF THE CLASS

 

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN IN THE COURSE?

  • How to safely handle, load, and shoot shotguns
  • An explanation of shotgun ammunition and how to choose appropriate ammunition for your activity with a shotgun
  • A discussion of shotgun recoil and how to manage it
  • An explanation of the fit of a shotgun to you and how it influences your success.
  •   What are the dimensions of a shotgun stock?
  •   The desirable dimensions for general shooting
  •   What are the correct dimensions for women?

 

  • A discussion of the different types of shotguns and the pluses and minuses for each

    • Side by sides, pumps, semi-autos, over-unders
  • For beginning shooters, shooting some targets on a skeet field, 5 to 10 targets
  • Explanation of the game of skeet and shooting some targets, about 10 targets.
  • Explanation of the game if trap and shooting some targets, about 10 targets.
  • Explanation of the game of sporting clays and shooting some targets, about 10 targets
  • Demonstration of the different types of targets used in sporting
  • Wrap up discussion
  • Feedback from students
  • If you’re interested in shooting shotguns, what happens next?
